I love the pizza. I don't think I can express how good it is. I usually do pick up. But we have done delivery and it was pretty quick. And they do let you know when they are busy just in case. I recommend trying papa d you will not regret and. And the price is reasonable
I moved to Saint Clairsville eight months ago. During the busy time of moving and setting up a new home, we had tons of take out food. We tried all of the pizza shops in town numerous times. Papa D's Pizza consistently beats the competition. I believe they have six employees in total. Every staff member is friendly, courteous and professional. The store is neat and clean. There are several tables for dining in. My wife and I ate there twice. She enjoyed watching HGTV while eating at the pizza shop. I have probably had over twenty take out orders and never encountered a mistake or problem. On one occasion, I ordered a tray five minutes before closing. It was perfect pizza, not old, re-heated pieces. This pizza beats every competitor from here to Wheeling and beyond. The pepperoni rolls are nothing short of awesome. When my son visits from out of state, we order a tray for him to take home. He can't get enough of Papa D's Pizza either.
This is prob more like 3.5 for me. I think we have a great variety of pizzas in StC, and for the type that it is, I really like it. Not to say I'd pick it often, but I like it for a change of pace every few months. (I'd most closely compare it to dicarlos)
Papa D's is terrific "Ohio Valley" square pizza. For out of towners that means tge cheese never goes in the oven. Sounds weird, but tastes great. A really good crust that is both crunchy and chewy at the same time. Always remember to order a "side bag" of cheese to sprinkle on the slices just before you eat them; if you want to eat it the way the locals do. They also have great pepperoni rolls ( another valley delicacy) and above average salads.
